The Unibank Headquarters in Copenhagen, story of integration between architecture and historical contexts, one of the greatest topics of our time that we have addressed with world renown architect Henning Larsen.

For the construction of the Unibank Headquarters in Copenhagen, the client requested us to use the “Bulgarian limestone”: the choice of materials was very important when it came to making new buildings stand out as contemporary architectural works, while simultaneously integrating themselves into historical Christianshavn area.

The presence of the same stone both internally and externally instils a sense of continuous trend to people that interact with this architecture.

The decision to cover the façades with sandstone copper for roofs and frames turned out to be of great importance. These materials refer to history, and their beauty becomes increasingly enhanced with the passage of time.
A project so well integrated with its surroundings could only be awarded with the EU Mies Award.
For us at Savema, contributing to the realization of architectures that perfectly integrate with surroundings whilst respecting the historical significance is a fundamental principle we nurture every day.
