LUSERNA
LUSERNA

The Luserna Stone is a metamorphic rock belonging to the group of gneiss. It is extracted in the quarries of Luserna San Giovanni and Bagnolo Piemonte on the border between the provinces of Turin and Cuneo. Ancient and durable material, used in indoor and outdoor construction. If the surface of the stone gets flamed, peculiar crystals pop out, giving it a silvery element of preciousness.
Since the seventeenth century the Luserna Stone has had noble uses as the external pavements of the royal palaces of Turin, Racconigi and Venaria Reale.
