OUR NEVERENDING
SOURCE OF INSPIRATION
Nested in the heart of the mountain, our neverending source of inspiration, our quarry is located in Monte Corchia of the Apuan Alps (1300 meters above sea level) in the area adjacent to the Regional Park.
Our excavation activity takes place in the tunnel: this allows us to achieve a balance between mining and landscape integrity.

The following materials are extracted from the Piastraio quarry:
ARABESCATO CORCHIA
A marble with a white fine-grained background, crossed by gray-blue veins arranged in the typical “ovulated” structure, more or less open. Depending on the quarry point, the background changes from milky white to ivory white and the vein from gray-blue to gray-green. Elegant marble of long tradition, it fits very well to the interior furniture for floors, walls and countertops.
STATUARIO CORCHIA
From the same quarry is extracted a quality of veined marble (without ovulated structure) with varying sizes of vein, generally very open. Depending on the point of quarry the background varies from milky white to ivory white and the vein from gray-blue to gray-green. Valid alternative to the Statuario from Carrara for interior furnishings for floors, walls and countertops.
VENATO CORCHIA
Material with a milky white background, it has a thin vein and a narrow and regular web texture. Sometimes the thin textures of the background are dominated by veins with varying thicknesses.
GRIGIO CORCHIA
Belonging to the Bardigli family, this marble with a soft grey-blue color is crossed by thin white veins, which make it a perfect partner in combination with white marble for flooring and interior coverings

Go to the quarry
Choose what the seller despises because unequal; because out of the “game”; choose the blocks with accentuated veins near the hat; they will be your marbles, not the marbles
Never arrange the marbles with bookmatched veins;
nature not facit disegnum, do not make drawings with it
Put the veins diagonally

Make floors with large irregular slabs, with immense scales
Make the floors in Statuary (or White P), in diagonal stripes, tied only lengthwise, in brass, and the others are equal in size, be put as it comes.
